"HSM Singstar" - 20 December 2007
Great for kids, whom surely it is aged at! My four 10, 8, 6 & 5 absolutely love it & play it constantly!! Have got all, bar Bollywood & RnB, & although not as adult friendly as others, deffo buy for children who love HSM!!

"Must for HSM fans." - 20 January 2008
This game is a kind of spin off of the singstar games, but Disney style. It is great if you love the High School Musical films. More about singing the songs rather than the story (although there is a story mode). It Fails in two areas, it is confusing in the set up and play (especially if there are two players) and the pitch bar/meter isn't the greatest. Being designed for children it is easy to get high 'grades' in your singing and I haven't yet found a way to increase the difficulty. All in all a good game but could be better. Only really a must for High School Musical fans.

When I first got this game 4 my xmas present I was excited. The cartoon backdrops are great and has extra features. One bad thing is the fact u hav 2 unlock all highschoolmusical 2 games by yourself although the extras tell u how which is helpful so u kno how far 2 go b4 u unlock the next! thrs also gr8 songs from aly and Ajy which is also a bonus.
I personally like the basketball idea so you know how highsu should be singing and is great fun but options can be confusing and the story mode should really have clips from the movie instead.
some bad poitns though is mainly the fact somehow your expected to sing ALOT higher if your singing a females part of the song compared to the males so when you do a duet someones voice ends up getting drowned and unheard. the pitches are wierd too, u end up sining 2 low at one point its almost like a murmour, then soo high the next minute it just sounds odd....
over all its ok, there could be more backdrops though!

this game is ace, my boyfriend bought it me because i love both films and im always singing the songs like 'i dont dance'. I gave it a go and i was on it all day! my boyfriend had to refill my glass of water for me a few times though because i was singing my heart out. The duets are soo cool. you can have 8 people in your singing party to sing along with you. also if you and someone else are singing duets and your friends are waiting for their turn on the mics, they can fiddle with stuff thats on your stage. they can change instruments and all sorts. (you have to see it to understand)
however i agree with some of the reviews because the cartoons arn't great, they only have videos in the extras and those videos are of dance rehearsals and interviews. and the basketball pitch metor can get annoying but it can help too. If the blue lines are dark blue it means you didn't hit the right note as the singers. but if its light blue then you did it. there is loads of songs! there is about 21 songs that are in high school musical 1 and high school muscial 2. there is also about 9 more songs that arnt in the movie but they are in other disney movies like jump in.
all in all, i love this game, well worth it weather your after a good sing along or a funny karaoke party.
im defiantly buying this game for my friends birthday presents.

"Cashing on a franchise" - 26 November 2007
If you're looking to just sing along to the songs from the film, this is the game for you, but don't expect anything more.
The story(game) section of the disc can be completed in all of 10 minutes and most of that is spend listen to the narrative between songs. It is also too easy to get an A+ and unlock the features. Although it has the songs from both films, the second films songs are clearly an afterthough and have to be unlocked.
The bouncing basketball which is meant to help with pitch is more of a distraction than a help, and the mic sensitivity setting before each song is pointless.
It was disappointing that they didn't even bother using the original soundtrack as the songs aren't exactly the same.

I was quite disapointed with this game.
I had been looking forward to it for weeks but when I played it, it was nothing like I thought it was going to be.
The songs aren't sung by the stars of the film, the whole thing is in cartoon and it is waaay to easy to get an a+

"Hugely disappointing" - 29 November 2007
I waited ages for this game to come out for my High School Musical obsessed 6 year old, only to be sorely disappointed. Unlike other Singstar games out there, this doesn't feature the original video footage. The songs aren't even sung by the original artists, but by very crude cartoon look-alikes. The cover and sales blurb implies that the songs from both films are included, but in fact only the HSM1 ones are in there (the others ones 'included' only feature in the enclosed song book).
Hugely disappointing - my advice is don't waste your money!

I helped Disney promote this video game.
It so much fun it makes you want to keep playing. Its not just for kids adults will love it too.
Your singing is rated like in High School from A's to F's the better you sing the better they dance, higher the grade
Truly is a 5 star video game.

I Disagree With All You's Who Are Insisting This Is Rubbish. I Got It For Christmas & Have Been Playing Ever Since. Ok, So Sometimes Its Easy But If You Are A True Fan Like Moi Then You'd Love it! Also The Unlocking Thing Is A really Good Idea As You Are Determined To Keep Playing To Get More & More Stuff. Anyway, i recommend It To All you's Who, As I Said, Are true Fans.
